How to Use

1. Switch on the LED and hold the nail so the light shines through it.
2. Identify the quick — the darker area inside the nail — and position the blade well clear of it.
3. Trim a small amount at a time. Several small cuts are far safer than one large one.
4. Trim every 3–4 weeks, or when nails click on hard floors.

Keep styptic powder to hand. Even careful trimming can catch the quick occasionally, and it stops bleeding quickly. If you're unsure, ask your vet or groomer to show you once.

Common Questions

Does the light really work on black nails? It makes the quick considerably easier to judge on dark nails than trimming without light. On very thick nails the effect is reduced — trim conservatively.

Will the light frighten my pet? It's a small, soft light. Most pets don't react, but let them see it before you start.
